I am so pleased to introduce you to Aruna Rao, whom I had the pleasure of photographing over the summer.
Aruna needed a variety of updated headshots for her upcoming speaking engagements. Additionally, she wanted some to update her social media presence.
Aruna is the founder of Desi Rainbow Parents & Allies.
This organization aims to “provide support, education, and advocacy for Desi American Families with LGBTQ children and family members of all ages.”
It is a wonderful mission and nonprofit organization. I was so honored to have the opportunity to photograph her.
For her headshots, we decided to keep it local in the New Brunswick and Edison NJ areas. We settled on one of my favorite locations for headshots, the Rutgers Business School.
I love to help my clients with the selection of their outfits.
She emailed me a few pictures of different options. In the end, we decided on a rainbow-striped shirt and deep blue sari for her first outfit.
Afterward, she changed into her second outfit. I always bring a changing pod for my clients to change outfits!
We scooted over to the building next door with white pillars for her final look.
Finally, Aruna has a variety of headshots that represent her and her organization. The final image came out fantastic! I look forward to seeing her organization expand and give back to her community.
