Monroe | Class of 2022 Senior Portraits | Asbury Park NJ
It is Monroe’s turn for her senior pictures!! We met up in Asbury Park on a beautiful blue sky day in September. Monroe wanted something especially unique for her senior portraits- a retro, vintage 2000’s look and feel to her images.
We found visuals from Pinterest to inspire our shots and the results are stunning!
Since we wanted to get images during sunset, we met up in the late afternoon.
Anna from AKO Artistry joined us to give Monroe the perfect makeup look.
Then, Monroe changed into her first outfit- an MTV t-shirt, jean shorts, and carefully curated accessories.
I loved Monroe’s attention to detail- she brought lots of bracelets, earrings, and necklaces to get each look just right.
She even brought an apple laptop to add to some shots.
It’s the same one Elle Woods uses in Legally Blonde!
Next, Monroe changed into her second outfit. I tucked her into some whispy bushes for some backlit shots. Then we had some fun shooting wide-angle shots. All of her images were edited a certain way and inspired by Lomography and disposable film!!
The sun was setting, so we set off to the boardwalk for Monroe’s final look. She chose a dark green jumpsuit and accessorized it with gold jewelry.
Some jewelry was her grandmother’s, so I grabbed some detail shots too!
Finally, we walked onto the beach for our final moments together.
Now that the sun had set, we were shooting in “blue hour”, as opposed to “golden hour”. But as you can see, blue hour is soft and beautiful!
I love shooting at this time and it suited Monroe’s retro vision for her senior pictures!
I had such an awesome time with Monroe! She is the third and final senior from my senior team to get her portraits done.
It was such an honor watching her be so confident in front of the camera. Plus, I got to work with her on a deep level to achieve the look she wanted to commemorate this time in her life.
It’s been such a blast shooting with her this year and you’ll be seeing more of her for our next shoots!!
